Burning Wood Flutes by Keith Oberdieck

Keith Oberdieck

Keith brings his many years of working with precision German engineering and love of woodworking to making native flutes.  Keith's mission is to produce a finely tuned flute with a good tone that can be packed and taken along anywhere a flute player goes. He is currently making a Woodland style flute, and primarily uses Poplar, Alder, and Mahogany from wood he hand selects and recycles from a friend's cabinet shop. He carves his birds out of solid surface counter top material. He decorates the flutes by burning, and with deer skin laces.

Fleece sleeves and his wife's "Accompniment for Native Flute" CD will be included.

Dryad Flutes

Some of the very characteristic bark has been left on this unsplit Ponderosa Pine branch flute, except where the sound chamber wall has been sanded down at the tone holes, creating a nice contrast with the finely finished, exposed grain.  All knots are unchecked and finely finished as well, each a window into the heart of the tree.  Measuring 16 3/4", this branch fute is concert tuned to a mid range B minor and plays the pentatonic modes 1 & 4 as well as the gypsy scale, with four in tune, upper octave notes.  American bison lacing with red horn and white bone beads holds the bird to the nest.   This flute comes with it's own stand, made of Ponderosa Pine as well, along with a nice fleece drawstring bag and a "Playing and Caring for Your Dryad Flute" booklet.

valued at $275.00

Dear Vendors and Sponsors,

We would like to include in our festival a silent auction with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting some of our non-profit partners that have made this all possible. We would like to ask you to consider donating an item for this silent auction.

We will include a photo and short description of the donated item and a photo and bio of you on our website. The silent auction items will be on display at the festival entrance where everyone attending will have an opportunity to see your work as soon as they arrive. Your donation will be marked with your name, your space number, and the retail value of the item. We want you to have a successful event and this could be a great way for you to show off your work to those who are less familiar with it.

If you have your own website you could advertise your donation on your website and link to the Yosemite Flute and Art Festival website. This is also a great way for you to spread the word about the festival to your database or regular clients. Please let us know how we can help you do this. We have nice black and white half page fliers we can email to you.

Please send a photo and very brief description of the exact item you will be donating to the silent auction to our web master. Please include the retail value of the item and a website or contact info. We can add a banner bar if you have one. Send this information to: cblackwolf@sbcglobal.net. Your donation will be listed on the website in the order in which we receive the donations.

Thank you so much for your participation in this magnificent event.
