Stephen DeRuby

Stephen is a World Music recording artist on the DOMO record label who is featured on numerous radio stations worldwide. As an accomplished flute player and multi-instrumentalist, his "Sacred Spaces" CD received candidacy for a Grammy nomination for Best New Age Album.
That album is hailed as "sensuous sonic perfume" by Bill Binkelman from the New Age Reporter.
And, John Diliberto, from Echoes writes: "Sacred Spaces is a spirit dance of musical exotica."
Other reviews describe Stephen's music as: "an ambience of cascading mysterious charm."
His much anticipated “Awakening” CD is soon to be released.
Stephen has been a musician since 1961 and first heard the Native American flute in ’89 at a Medicine Wheel workshop.
Deeply moved and hearing the call, he became a flute maker, who for the last 20 years is "Known for Tone”.
Stephen is also known as an innovator of unique flute designs. His latest creation is the deep, full tones of the ez-Anasazi style flute.
Stephen has devoted a lifetime to Music, Crafts, and Healing for Spiritual Expression, Service and Right Livelihood. He has drawn much inspiration from the music of indigenous cultures East and West and the practice of yoga/meditation since 1970.
Stephen lives near Yosemite where he creates music in his studio and crafts flutes in his shop.
"I am grateful for these gifts and all the people who partake of my offerings.
It is my intention to create music that expresses the mystery and gently yet deeply touches the listener.”
